The Situation
The food service manager at Target Center was frustrated by dirty walls,
ceilings, and floors in the concession areas that were becoming
unsightly as well as slippery from grease. The areas behind the
food service equipment were extremely dirty and rarely cleaned.
The manager had two additional problems. First, many of the larger
concession stands were in need of painting but could not be cleaned
thoroughly enough for the paint to stick to the walls. Second,
many of the expensive executive suites were located on the level
directly beneath the concession stands. Water and chemicals used
to clean the concession stands could not be allowed to drip or run down
the walls into the executive suites.
The Pro-Clean Solution -
Water Containment - "No Dripping Allowed"
Pro-Clean was hired to conducted a "pilot" program to clean one
concession stand utilizing a pressure washing solution that included
water funneling, wet vacuuming, and other water runoff containment
techniques. The successful outcome of the pilot resulted in a
second contract award to clean eight additional concession stands.
The food service manager was very pleased with the results and the fact
that no wet carpet or water leakage complaints would be received from
the tenants in the executive suites.
The Value of Pro-Clean
Not long after the initial contact was awarded to Pro-Clean, the Target
Center food service manager hired Pro-Clean to pressure wash four of the
largest concession stands that were scheduled for painting. Next
Pro-Clean was then asked to clean vent hoods and exhaust systems for
twelve concession stands over a four day period. This was done
during concession operation "down time" to minimize the impact on food
service at Target Center. Pro-Clean is now Target Center's
"on-call" service for concession stand cleaning. The creativity of
Pro-Clean's solution and performance of Pro-Clean employees speaks for
itself in the awarding of additional cleaning contracts. The food
service manager's job runs more smoothly - at least in the area of
concession stand cleanliness.
Customer Profile - Food Packaging Company
This Pro-Clean client is a
1 million square foot food packaging facility that produces and packages
cereals, soup mixes, seasonings, salad garnishes, snack mixes, popcorn,
dry mix products, fiber laxatives and baby formula additives. The
company is one of the largest contract packagers of dry food products in
the United States. Walk down the aisle of any food distribution
store and there will likely be products that have been blended,
packaged, and / or produced by our client. Our client packages for
many of the largest food and pharmaceutical companies in the United
States, Europe, and the Middle East.
The Situation
The in-house cleaning staff at our client was making their best effort
to keep the packaging facility clean enough to meet FDA standards.
The management team realized that their staff simply did not have the
necessary equipment or the expertise to conduct the specialized cleaning
needed for cleaning the facility's ceilings, bar joists, and the HVAC
system. The management team considered installing canopies or
hoods over the packaging production areas but decided that the required
capital investment was too great. The team at our client's
facility was also growing concerned that their facility might someday
fall short of the FDA standards.
The Pro-Clean Solution -
Environmentally Friendly with No Down Time
A proposal was made to the company's management team to minimize
production interruptions while cleaning the Lakeville facility's inner
ceilings. In addition to Pro-Clean's experience with meeting FDA
cleanliness standards, the proposal had to be "environmentally friendly"
yet creative enough to engineer a safe approach to cleaning irregular
and difficult to reach areas.
The Value of Pro-Clean
Over a 3 month period, Pro-Clean used a Hepa vacuuming system to clean
147,000 square feet of ceiling by divided it into three sections.
Pro-Clean employees worked on weekends and holidays to ensure a minimum
of interruption to production and packaging operations. The
engineering solution used by Pro-Clean included the use of air lifts and
an 8-way articulating boom to clean the most difficult to reach areas.
Not long after Pro-Clean began work, the management team developed a
level of trust such that Pro-Clean was asked to be responsible for
opening and locking up the facility.
Not long after completing the job of ceiling cleaning,
Pro-Clean recommended that our client consider cleaning their 17 HVAC
units and ductwork because of the long-term accumulation of dust in the
HVAC system. A thorough HVAC cleaning would extend the time
interval before another ceiling cleaning would become necessary.
Our client agreed with the suggestion and hired Pro-Clean to clean the
HVAC system.
